According to Khmer Times, E-Sports is video games turned professional sport. The most popular examples of E-Sports include Dota, Counter-Strike, and League of Legends.
It has become a billion-dollar industry that has gained massive popularity in Southeast Asia and other parts of the globe, leading the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to recognise it as a sporting activity in 2017.
E-Sports was part of the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia, and it also featured as a medal sport in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in Manila, Philippines. Cambodia is among the countries that sent a team to compete in E-Sports in the SEA Games.
