Cambodia Hopes to Expand Economic Poles from the Current Three

Royal Government of Cambodia expects to expand the country's poles to boost national economic growth beyond the current three in a near future.

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, shared the strategy during a get-together with more than 20,000 workers and employees from 77 factories and enterprises at Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone in Preah Sihanouk province on Saturday.

Currently, the three so-called economic poles, according to the Cambodian Premier, are Phnom Penh capital and provinces of Preah Sihanouk and Siem Reap.

Cambodia, he continued, is planning to expand its economic pole to the north-eastern provinces such as Mondulkiri, Rattanakiri, Stung Treng and Preah Vihear, home to the agro-industrial crops and products.
