Cambodia Holds National Housing Forum

More than 100 civil servants and representatives of civil society organisations gathered in Phnom Penh on June 27 in the National Housing Forum to engage hearts, minds and voice in ensuring adequate housing for all.

This forum was organised by international non-profit organisation Habitat for Humanity under the presidency of H.E. Chea Sophara, Senior Minister and Minister of Land Management Urban Planning and Construction.

Different topics including sustainable and resilient housing designs and technologies, accessible housing finance, the regulatory framework, initiatives on land for housing and promoting affordable housing through the implementation of the National Housing Policy were discussed on the occasion.

The National Housing Forum sets the stage for everyone who is interested in sustainable urbanisation and wants to make sure that all Cambodians will live with dignity in adequate housing with secure tenure, said Ms. Bernadette Bolo-Duthy, National Director, Habitat for Humanity Cambodia.

Our panellists represent multi-sector stakeholders who bring their expertise to the forum with the aim of achieving common ground in prioritising housing issues and challenges, she added.
