Cambodia Earns US$39 million from Angkor Ticket Sales in First Four Months

The famous Angkor Archaeological Park in Siem Reap province, a UNESCO's World Heritage Site, generated a total revenue of US$39.25 million from entrance ticket sales in the first four months of this year, up 60.21 percent compared to the same period last year.

According to a press release of the Angkor Enterprise, the state-owned institution in charge of Angkor income management, the entrance tickets were sold out to 945,366 foreign tourists during the period, an increase by 11.54 percent.

In April alone, 181,220 tourists visited the Angkor temple, up 23.96 percent, generating revenue from Angkor ticket sales of US$8.39 million, up 102.4 percent compared to a month earlier.

Last year, Angkor entrance ticket sales generated US$62.5 million and were sold out to 2,197,254 foreign tourists.
