APSARA Authority has received Smoke-free Heritage Award from the Southeast Asia Tobacco Control Alliance and World Health Organisation (WHO) in Asia-Pacific region.
Official handover of the award took place during a workshop branded advancing Siem Reap city to be a smoke-free city at Siem Reap province recently.
Addressing the function, Mrs. Dr. Domilyn Villarreiz, the alliance's Secretary General, spoke highly of the APSARA Authority's efforts in discouraging smoking through awareness building and dissemination of harmful impacts of the practice.
From his end, H.E. Hang Peou, Director General of APSARA Authority noticed that his authority has been working hard in sustaining smoke-free environment to protect people's health as well as to attract more tourists to the city.
He also thanked the alliance and WHO in the Asia Pacific region for recognising the endeavours of his team as well as Cambodia at large to make Angkor Archaeological Park a smoke-free heritage site.
