The annual Sea Festival, the 8th of its kind, will take place in the coastal province of Kampot, some 148 kilometres southwest of Phnom Penh capital, from Dec. 20 to 22, 2019.
Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and his spouse, Samdech Kittiprittbandit Bun Rany Hun Sen, will preside over the festival's opening ceremony.
A preparatory meeting was held early this week in Kampot province under the chairmanship of Tourism Minister H.E. Thong Khon and the Provincial Governor H.E. Cheav Tay.
On the occasion, H.E. Thong Khon recommended the provincial authorities and other relevant parties to well prepare Street Food, widely promote tourist destinations of Kampot, organise local products' fair, art performances, sports competitions, enhance the quality of services, and so on.
Last year, the Sea Festival in Koh Kong province attracted 350,000 domestic and international tourists. There were many interesting programmes such as sports competitions�triathlon, wrestling, Khmer boxing, sailing, jet-ski ... �sport parade, trade fair, concert, art performances, etc.
Sea Festival is held since 2011 on a rotating basis in the four coastal provinces of Cambodia, including Preah Sihanouk, Kep, Koh Kong and Kampot. Stretching in the length of 450 kilometres in the four provinces, Cambodia's coastline was recognised as a world most beautiful bay in May 2011.
