Three National Sports Events to Start Soon

Three national sports events, including canoeing and rowing, mountain climbing, and jiu-jitsu, will start late this month and in mid-January 2024. According to H.E. Meas Sarin, Permanent Vice President of the Cambodian Canoeing and Rowing Federation (CCRF), the national boat race 2023 will take place from Dec. 29 to 31 at the Stung Sangke river in Battambang province. The sport comprises three categories: international traditional boat, international Pkar Char boat, and canoeing-kayak-rowing races. The canoeing-kayaks-rowing race, he added, incorporates the C1 men-women's 500-metre race, the K1 men-women's 500-metre race, and the 1X men-women's 1,000-metre race. According to the Cambodia Climbing Federation (CCF), the national climbing championship 2023 will happen from Dec. 30 to 31 in Phnom Penh. It entails six disciplines, such as U14 men-women top rope, lead for men-women aged from over 14 to 17 years old, lead for men-women aged 18 years old up, U14 men-women speed, speed for men-women aged over 14 to 17 years old, and speed for men-women aged 18 years old up. The national Jiu-Jitsu championship 2023 will be organised from Jan. 20 to 21, 2024, at the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) in Phnom Penh, the Jiu-Jitsu Federation of Cambodia pointed out. The disciplines to be included in the game are male adults with -62, -69, -77, -84, -88, and +88 kilogrammes; female adults with -48, -52, -57, and +57 kilogrammes; kids U10 open weight; kids U12 with -38 and +38 kilogrammes; and kids U14 with -46 and +46 kilogrammes.
