NOCC: Sports Boost Health, Friendship, Peace and Economy

Sports are considered as a movement not only to improve health, build peace, and enhance the spirit of friendship and solidarity but also to further boost the economy. The note was highlighted by H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) in a press conference on Women Run 10K, at the NOCC's headquarters in Phnom Penh on Feb. 6. H.E. Vath Chamroeun continued that the ministry and NOCC are working hard in pushing for the promotion of people's welfare through sport activities. For the ASEAN region, he continued, the bloc always train its physical education and sports officials to help inspire the ASEAN people to play sports. Sports makes ASEAN people healthy, contributing to the region's strong economic force, he underlined. The NOCC secretary general also underscored the Royal Government of Cambodia's goal to establish 100 model schools in 2024 whose key principles also focus on sports. S ource: Agence Kampuchea Presse
