Ministry Welcomes Expansion of Chinese Investments in Cambodia

Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training has supported China's General Enterprise Garment (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. to expand its second garment factory in Kampong Speu province in the future.

H.E. Heng Suor, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training, voiced his support in a meeting with Mr. Ray Chen, CEO of General Enterprise Garment (Cambodia) Co., Ltd., at the ministry on Oct. 5.

H.E. Heng Suor noticed that the company will bring its latest technology to boost the plant's production chain in Cambodia.

The minister encouraged the firm to coordinate with the National Employment Agency (NEA) to recruit Cambodian workers for the expanded plant as soon as possible.

The General Enterprise Garment (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. is the largest textile production and export company investing in Cambodia. The firm's first factory was located in Kandal province, providing many jobs for the locals.
