#MCKLFESTFORCHAMPS PROVIDES PLATFORM TO UNLEASH YOUTH POTENTIAL

Methodist College Kuala Lumpur (MCKL) has successfully hosted its first carnival event in conjunction with its 40th anniversary, aimed at engaging youths and high school students, providing them with an exciting platform to unleash their potential in sports and leadership.

Themed #MCKLFestForChamps, the carnival held at the MCKL branch campus in Georgetown, Penang, was officiated by former Pengkalan Kota assemblyman Daniel Gooi Zi Sen and featured a diverse and fun range of activities to cater to different interests.

In a statement today, MCKL Penang Pykett Campus Principal, Dr. Gerard Boey said MCKL’s holistic education cultivates well-rounded individuals who excel academically, participate in co-curricular activities, and assume leadership roles.

“At #MCKLFestForChamps, we highlight the importance of sports in youth development, fostering discipline, determination, and a balanced approach to personal growth. By integrating education and sports, MCKL shapes students' intellect, health, and determination for lifelong success.

“With its rich heritage and dedicated core values, MCKL is on track in establishing itself as the ideal tertiary education provider for those seeking a promising future," he said.

The statement said the carnival offered thrilling sports games, including Captain Ball, football, and basketball; delectable food trucks and captivating pop-up bazaars; as well as a colouring contest for young children to ensure fun and excitement for the entire family.

Students and parents who visited the event were also provided with a valuable opportunity to engage with representatives from more than 10 esteemed local and private universities in Malaysia.

“The interaction enabled them to gain deeper insights and a better understanding of potential education pathways for their future,” the statement said.

Situated within a historic 130-year-old building, the MCKL Penang Pykett which was officially launched in July last year, and currently has over 200 active students, alongside a dedicated team of close to 30 academic and administrative staff.

The Pykett Campus offers Pre-U, Early Childhood Education, and IR 4.0 oriented programmes including Cambridge A Level, AUSMAT, Diplomas in Early Childhood Education, Information Technology (IoT Focused), Computer Science (Data Science Focused), Digital Business, Digital Marketing, and professional development courses.
