DP leader Lee projected to win reelection in Incheon Gyeyang-B district

Opposition leader Lee Jae-myung was projected to win reelection in Incheon's Gyeyang-B district in parliamentary elections Wednesday, the official vote count showed. With 90 percent of the vote counted, Lee of the main opposition Democratic Party secured 53 percent against 46 percent won by former land minister Won Hee-ryong of the ruling People Power Party, according to the National Election Commission. "As the voters have demanded, I will stop the regression of this country's state affairs and make it move toward the future once again," Lee said at his campaign office. "The voters' choice is a judgment of the Yoon Suk Yeol administration, as well as an act of giving the Democratic Party and me the responsibility to create a better world by taking responsibility for people's livelihood issues," he said.
