DMBI APP TO REPLACE ASSESSMENT TAX PHYSICAL BILL – MBI

IPOH, The Ipoh City Council (MBI) will no longer send out physical bills and all transactions should be via its DMBI application (app), effective the July to December assessment period this year.

Ipoh Mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin said customers can register through the app and make online payments via FPX and e-wallet, which is quicker and safer and also has notifications of new bills.

"Customers coming to payment counters have been notified and provided with detailed explanations of the digital bill on the DMBI app.

"For future improvement, the DMBI app will provide an installment feature for the settlement of outstanding assessment taxes to ease the burden of customers," he said in a statement after the launch of the DMBI app, here today.

In January 2023, in line with the mandate of the government, MBI developed the mobile app with the aim of making it more convenient for customers to access, receive, check, and pay assessment taxes anytime, anywhere.

Rumaizi said a collection of RM136,493 has been recorded on the app from January to October this year, compared to RM123,133 through the conventional method for the whole of 2022, which clearly shows an increase.

He added that MBI is offering attractive prizes worth RM99,000 through a lucky draw in 2024 for customers who fully settle their annual assessment tax through any payment method.

"Among the 30 main prizes provided is a Perodua Axia 1.0 E (MT) car, four 110cc motorcycles, a 65-inch Smart TV, and a variety of digital household appliances as well as 200 consolation cash prizes.

“MBI is also offering a monthly lucky draw worth RM9,000 to 20 winners for November and December this year," he said, adding that there are also rebates of up to RM5 for the first 20,000 early bird customers who fully settle their annual assessment tax for 2024, subject to terms and conditions.
