As of April 12, about 70-80 percent of guesthouses and hotels in Siem Reap province have been booked. The figure was shared by Mr. Thim Sereyvudh, Acting Director of Siem Reap Provincial Tourism Department, adding that Siem Reap province expects to receive more tourists during this year's celebration of Khmer New Year than the previous years. Siem Reap has new tourism products and organises Siem Reap Sankranta to welcome the national and international visitors during the Khmer New Year celebration from April 13 to 16, said Mr. Thim Sereyvudh. Siem Reap Sankranta will provide opportunities for youth and the public not only to enjoy the event but also to contribute to continuing to maintain Khmer culture. It also helps promote Cambodian culture, civilisation and tradition to the world, he added. This year, Siem Reap Sankranta will include many programmes such as Khmer folk games, boat rowing, exhibition, cultural heritage village, Khmer kite making, concert, and other entertainment activities.
