World Food Programme (WFP) continues its support for Cambodia's initiative to establish a food security system.
The commitment was underlined by Mr. David Kaatrud, WFP's Director to Asia and the Pacific Region in his recent meeting with Minister of Environment H.E. Say Samal at the ministry office here in Phnom Penh.
The director continued that the project will encourage farmers to work hard in producing agricultural crops, especially organic crops at homes and communities to increase food security and reduce household expenditures.
He also highlighted that WFP is carrying out its five-year (2019-2023) strategic programme with the Royal Government of Cambodia to build farmers' capacity, reduce food insecurity risks and strengthen sub-national food system.
H.E. Say Samal thanked the WFP delegation, saying that its support for government's food security system initiative will contribute to promoting nutrition and living condition among Cambodians.
