The Cambodian Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology has issued heavy rain and flash flood warnings from Aug. 1 to 5 due to the influence of Sinlaku storm which moved across North Vietnam on Aug. 2.
According to the ministry’s recent announcement, an active low pressure has formed over the South China Sea and evolved into a tropical depression, which then developed gradually into the 3rd storm called Sinlaku.
The provinces at the Dangrek Range and northeastern highland areas will be the most affected, while the coastal areas will face strong wind and high waves in addition to heavy rain and flash flood.
The ministry thus appealed to the public, particularly fishermen and maritime travellers to keep their vigilance to avoid possible accidents.
