Throughout the first year of its operation 2018, Phnom Penh-Takhmao's water taxi served 30,647 passengers, according to the report from Ministry of Public Works and Transport.
Introduced last April to ease the capital road traffic, the water taxi runs back and forth between Prek Phnov of Phnom Penh capital and Takhmao city of Kandal province on free-of-charge mode.
Entering 2019, as updated by spokesperson at Phnom Penh capital hall (the office that manages the means of transportation) Mr. Met Measpheakdey, the water taxi is still providing service free of charge to the public.
The government continues to encourage the public to use the means served by blue boats, with the capacity to carry 60 passengers each, passing five stations along its route.
