Water of Mekong River May Hit Alarming Levels

Mekong River passing through some provinces of Cambodia may rise to alarming levels if affected by the happening 12th storm called Podul moving to South China Sea.

The update was shared with local media by senior officials from the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology recently.

According to the ministry's spokesperson and Secretary of State H.E. Chan Yutha, after Podul typhoon passing the South China Sea, it is likely to head to upper Mekong River in Hanoi of Vietnam, causing rainfalls for days in Cambodia.

He added that the foreseen rainfalls will increase the water levels in the Mekong River at the provinces of Stung Treng, Kratie and Kampong Cham.
