US$3.46 Billion Investment Projects Recorded in First 9 Months

Cambodia received a fixed-asset investment of US$3.46 billion in the first nine months of 2022, a year-on-year increase of 3 percent, a report of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) showed on Thursday. 

The Kingdom approved 150 investment projects during the January-September period this year, up 12 percent from 134 projects over the same period last year, the report said.   

Domestic investment topped the list, sharing 50 percent of the total investment value, while foreign investment from China accounted for 43.9 percent with US$1.52 billion investment capital, it added.

Other foreign investments came from Thailand, Japan, Cayman Islands, Samoa, South Korea, British Virgin Islands, Singapore, Malaysia, and Australia, the source pointed out.  

According to the report, most of the new investment projects concern the areas of agriculture and agro-industry, manufacturing, tourism, and infrastructure.
