A US$18 million zoo is set to open officially in Siem Reap province in October 2022, displaying various aquatic and wildlife species to attract national and international tourists.
H.E. Veng Sakhon, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries led a group of concerned officials to inspect the site last week, stressing that this is the first project of its kind in Siem Reap province that will contribute to tourism promotion.
H.E. Minister urged Angkor Wildlife and Aquarium Co., Ltd. to cooperate with the Forestry Administration and Fisheries Administration on the conservation, protection and breeding programme.
The zoo is located on an area of 22 hectares in Sotr Nikum district, Siem Reap province.
