Different leaders including Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen of the Kingdom of Cambodia will join regional UN forum to discuss advancing empowerment and inclusion in Bangkok, Thailand.
According to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN-ESCAP)'s press release, Samdech Techo Hun Sen is among the leaders who have confirmed their attendance in the 75th session of UN-ESCAP to be held next week.
Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, President of Nauru H.E. Baron Divavesi Waqa and UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of ESCAP Armida Alisjahbana are also among the regional leaders and dignitaries officiating the annual session.
The forthcoming event, to take place under the theme "Empowering people and ensuring inclusiveness and equality," will comprise a ministerial segment from May 27 to 28, and a senior officials segment from May 29 to 31. The Special Body on Least Developed, Landlocked Developing and Pacific Island Developing Countries will be held on May 28.
Countries are set to examine how empowerment and inclusion, achieved through sustainable and secure access to basic opportunities and a decent income, are fundamental factors for social mobility and achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the region.
