Mohammad Omar Bin Haider Holding Group P.S.C (MOBH) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is interested in investing in the fields of garment, agriculture and tourism in Cambodia.
The interest was shown by a visiting delegation of MOBH led by Mr. Abdo Ali Kayali, General Manager - International Relations, and Mr. Naji Bou Fakhreddine, Director in charge of Business Development, while paying a courtesy visit on H.E. Pan Sorasak, Minister of Commerce, at the ministry office in Phnom Penh on Feb. 15.
According to a news release of the Ministry of Commerce, MOBH wants to expand its garment production to Cambodia, beside Bangladesh, thanks to its good business environment and other favorable conditions, and to invest in the whole rice production chain, not only in the rice export to countries in the Middle East.
For tourism sector, MOBH is interested in hotel industry as the company has some hotels in European countries like England, France and Germany.
Mr. Abdo Ali Kayali expressed his surprise with Cambodia's development, especially in real estate which is a factor to strengthen businessmen's confidence.
For his part, H.E. Pan Sorasak thanked his guests for speaking highly of Cambodia's progress, attributing it to the efforts and determination of the Royal Government of Cambodia to maintain peace and political stability.
Regarding the above-said investment plans, H.E. Minister reaffirmed that Cambodia welcomes all investments with open and encouraging business environment for all investors. Cambodian garment sector is a good model for other countries as Cambodia has adhered and abided by the standard of International Labour Organisation (ILO) through the implementation of Better Factories Cambodia (BFC) programme.
For agricultural field, H.E. Pan Sorasak encouraged MOBH to work with private companies and Cambodia Rice Federation (CFC), and for tourism sector, he recommended MOBH to continue to study the area thoroughly and observe potential real estate partners as high class hotels are still badly needed in spite of available big hotels in the country.
Mohammad Omar Bin Haider Holding Group P.S.C was established for about 90 years old with some 60 subsidiaries. It is running businesses in five countries in Asia and Europe.
