U.S. Urges for Trade Protection Agreement with Cambodia

Ambassador of the United States to Cambodia H.E. William A. Heidt has suggested a trade protection agreement between Cambodia and the U.S. in order to encourage major American investors to invest in Cambodia.

He made the suggestion while meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister in charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers H.E. Sok An in Phnom Penh on Friday last week, H.E. Phay Siphan, Spokesperson for the Council of Ministers, told reporters after the meeting.

H.E. William A. Heidt pledged to fuel trade relation between Cambodia and the U.S. and lauded the good political and economic environment in Cambodia.

In reply, H.E. Sok An expressed his support to the new U.S. diplomat's suggestion and commitment to strengthen the trade cooperation between both countries.
