The Government of the United States of America has extended more than US$320,000 worth of aid to Cambodia for clearance of explosive remnants of war (ERW) in five provinces.
Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC) Director General H.E. Heng Ratana shared the update recently, adding that the assistance that will last for two months in early 2018 will cover Kampong Cham, Thbong Khmum, Kratie, Svay Rieng and Prey Veng provinces.
For 2018, added the director general, his centre is determined to clear landmines as well as unexploded ordnances from another 117 square kilometre land surface.
CMAC's other activities include capacity building, strengthening of volunteer networks at grassroots level, and support for mine victims and disabled people.
