Two More Malaysians Diagnosed with COVID-19

Two more Malaysian nationals in Kep province have been confirmed with COVID-19 infection, according to H.E. Ms. Or Vandine, Secretary of State and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health in a press conference here this morning.

Yesterday, three Malaysians in the same province, who attended a religious event in Malaysia, were detected with the deadly virus.

With the two new cases, the total number of confirmed cases in Cambodia rose to 35. Of them, there are 22 Cambodians, 3 British, 2 French, a Canadian, a Belgian, 5 Malaysians, and a Chinese who has already recovered.

All confirmed cases in Cambodia are imported cases, except the one in Siem Reap who was in direct contact with a Japanese infected man. Anyway, the Ministry of Health is working hard to prevent and contain the community transmission, underlined H.E. Ms. Or Vandine, calling for participation from all concerned institutions and the public.

According to the World Health Organisation, there are now 184,976 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 7,529 fatal cases in 159 countries and territories.
