Two Dignitaries to Be Awarded with Japan’s Decorations

The Government of Japan will confer decorations upon two dignitaries in recognition of their contribution to enhancing relationship between Cambodia and Japan.

The two dignitaries are H.E. Neak Oknha Seang Nam, Member of the National Assembly, and Mr. Teruo Jinnai, Advisor to the Royal Government of Cambodia and former UNESCO representative to Cambodia, pointed out a press release of the Embassy of Japan.

H.E. Neak Oknha Seang Nam will be awarded with the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon in recognition of his contribution to strengthening bilateral relations and promoting friendship between Japan and the Kingdom of Cambodia, it said.

On the other hand, added the same source, Mr. Teruo Jinnai will be offered the Order of Sacred Treasure, Gold and Silver Rays, in recognition of his contribution to the promotion of cultural exchanges between Japan and the Kingdom of Cambodia as well as the promotion of Cambodian culture in international fora including UNESCO.

H.E. Neak Oknha Seang Nam and Mr. Teruo Jinnai are among the 136 recipients of the 2019 Autumn Conferment of Decorations announced by the Cabinet Office of the Government of Japan on Nov. 3, it underlined.

According to the same source, the decorations are bestowed upon individuals of merit in recognition of their national or public services, and in honor of their distinguished accomplishments in various areas in society.
