Two Chinese companies are interested in the establishment of training and clean water centre in Cambodia.
The groups Shanghai Mechanical Power Engineering Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Micro Purification Technology Co., Ltd expressed the interest when received recently by Minister of Industry and Handicraft H.E. Cham Prasidh here in Phnom Penh.
According to an update from the Ministry of Industry and Handicraft, the clean water development cooperation, when implemented, will be under direct supervision of the ministry.
The cooperation intends to introduce the latest equipment for the supply of clean water as well as to promote technology development and transfer in the field.
Once in place, the centre is expected to be able to mobilise resources and set up funding to sustain its operation.
Seeing the importance of the project, H.E. Cham Prasidh suggested the Chinese companies to work with concerned ministry's officials on a memorandum of understanding for its implementation.
