The Republic of Turkey will assist Cambodia in developing Halal Food in the Kingdom by providing techniques and sharing good practices.
According to the Ministry of Commerce, the commitment was made in response to Cambodia's request during the meeting between Cambodian Minister of Commerce H.E. Pan Sorasak and his Turkish counterpart H.E. Ms. Ruhsar Pekcan, in Ankara late last week.
Besides Halal food development, both sides agreed to work together to foster the trade and investment cooperation and to boost the bilateral trade exchange between the two countries, which is now still limited.
The two-way trade between Cambodia and Turkey was recorded only at US$510 million between 2014 and 2018.
H.E. Pan Sorasak paid a visit to Turkey to chair the 2nd Turkey-Cambodia Joint Economic Commission Meeting held in Ankara on Oct. 17-18.
