Tourism ministry is calling for video contest applications among youth as well as general public interested in producing short films to promote community-based tourism and ecotourism.
The opening for applications for video competition themed Community's Treasure, Tourist Sites 2019 season 2 has been notified recently by the ministry of tourism, and will last until the close of April.
Interested production teams of at least five members each can either apply for the filming eligibility online or physically with assigned officials at the ministry or Der Prey group.
Following an interview, 12 production teams three of them as backups will be shortlisted for the shooting assignment covering guided areas, ranging from service and hospitality, biodiversity, and hygiene, to beliefs, tradition, and culture.
The rating of film materials collected by the selected production teams will be done both by Facebook voting and by technical selection of competent committees of Tourism Ministry and Der Prey group.
By July, it is expected that top three winners will be identified from the selected film crews for an award of US$1,000, US$600, and US$400 sequentially.
The contest, as underlined in the circulated notification, also aims to promote the love of the country and bring to light the effectiveness of government's strategy to reduce poverty through tourism.
