Three things to know about the Twins:
After stumbling out of the gate in April, Minnesota has been one of the hottest teams in baseball in May, winning 18 of 24 games to climb ahead of the Detroit Tigers into second place in the AL Central behind the Kansas City Royals.
The Twins have averaged five runs per game this month, with second baseman Brian Dozier leading the way: seven home runs in May and nine on the season.
Thirty-nine-year-old Torii Hunter returned to Minnesota — where he spent the first 10 years of his career — this off-season and has been playing like his younger self of late. Hunter may now be a defensive liability in the outfield, but he’s hitting .345 this month with six homers and 20 RBIs.
