Phnom Penh authority has put into use a temporary steel bridge linking Khan Chroy Changvar to National Road Number 5 in Khan Russey Keo a measure to address traffic issue while the capital's Cambodian-Japanese Friendship Bridge, known as Chroy Changvar Bridge, is under rehabilitation.
Phnom Penh Municipal Governor H.E. Khuong Sreng presided over the official opening of the temporary steel bridge this afternoon.
The bridge, constructed by the Overseas Cambodia Investment Corporation (OCIC) since late 2017, is 505 metre long and 12 metre wide.
It is expected that the means will address challenges of commuters in the areas.
This temporary bridge will be replaced later by permanent cable-stayed concrete bridge estimated to cost about US$35 million.
