The national Under-15 football team (Tabuan U-15) left for Cambodia yesterday for an international competition called the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Under-16 Youth Championship 2015.
The AFF Under-16 Youth Championship 2015 is hosted by Cambodia where all the matches will be played at Phnom Penh. The tournament will kick off on July 27 and end on Aug 9. Eleven countries will be participating in this tournament where there will be two groups.
Group A will consist of Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Brunei Darussalam and Laos while in Group B are Australia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore and Cambodia.
The Tabuan U-15 players have been identified, recruited and trained together as a team since early 2014. Since then, trainings have been conducted five times a week with the intention to provide early-specialised trainings, exposure and experience given to the players.
Furthermore, centralised camp trainings, local friendly games and competitions have been arranged part of the Tabuan U-15’s progressive development as the future national team players.
