Some 555 kg of Gold Ore Refined

Renaissance Minerals (Cambodia) Limited has refined 48 gold bars, equivalent to approximately 555 kg as of Sept. 27, after three months of operation in O’ Kvau area, Keo Seima district, Mondulkiri province.

H.E. Eung Dipola, Director General of the General Department of Mineral Resources, Ministry of Mines and Energy, told AKP yesterday that the company has exported 34 gold bars, equivalent to 355 kg of gold ore, to Australia to purify for 99.99 percent of the gold.

He said the gold mining process of the company has been made as planned.

Renaissance Minerals has officially operated its gold mining and refinery in O’ Kvau area, Keo Seima district, Mondulkiri province since June 21, 2021.

Cambodia’s gold exploration in the O’ Kvau area is expected to refine 3 tonnes of gold ore per year for the first eight years.

The Kingdom expects to receive US$40 million in royalties and taxes from the precious metal for the national budget.
