Cambodian Minister of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation H.E. Vorng Sauth has received visiting Ms. Rhona Smith, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Cambodia.
In the meeting taking place yesterday at the ministry office here in Phnom Penh, H.E. Vorng Sauth briefed Ms. Rhona Smith on the ministry's efforts in assisting and rehabilitating Cambodian vulnerable people.
Key achievements, as shared by the minister, include on-going establishment of more drop-in and psychiatric care and treatment centres.
H.E. Vorng Sauth was positive that the centres, once completed, will play crucial role in providing necessary care, treatment and rehabilitation to orphan children, the elderly, psychos and addicts in Cambodia.
According to H.E. Minister, the construction of the centres will finish by early 2018.
From her end, Ms. Rhona Smith appreciated the achievements by the ministry and shared optimism with H.E. Vorng Sauth about the future betterment.
