AKP Phnom Penh, Six private companies have recently obtained their investment licences from the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC).
According to a CDC’s news release, with a total investment capital of US$49.8 million, the new projects will be located in the provinces of Takeo, Pursat, Kandal, Preah Sihanouk and Svay Rieng, and Phnom Penh capital.
The projects, expected to create nearly 2,500 jobs for the locals, will cover the assembly of electronic and electric equipment, production of clothes, medical apparel and equipment and all kinds of bicycle parts, and aquaculture.
Such investment amid the COVID-19 outbreak demonstrates confidence of investors in Cambodia’s macroeconomic, political and social stability though threatened by the pandemic.
