Sierra Leone Explores Rice Import Possibility from Cambodia

Ambassador of Sierra Leone to China has visited Cambodia to explore rice production in the Kingdom, according to the Ministry of Commerce.

H.E. Pan Sorasak, Minister of Commerce received the Ambassador of Sierra Leone H.E. Ernest M. Ndomahina at the ministry here in Phnom Penh recently.

The visiting ambassador spoke highly of Cambodia's development, particularly expressed his appreciation of Cambodia's rice production.

He hopes to cooperate with Cambodia in the near future to import Cambodian rice to Sierra Leone as it is also a staple food in the country.

From his side, H.E. Pan Sorasak informed the ambassador of Sierra Leone that Cambodia is capable of producing more than 4 million tons of rice annually for export.

He encouraged H.E. Ernest M. Ndomahina to consider entering a memorandum of understanding to import rice from Cambodia as soon as possible.
