Senate President Receives Washington State Senator

Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum, President of the Senate of Cambodia, has received visiting Washington State Senator H.E. Doug Ericksen.

In the meeting taking place here in Phnom Penh yesterday, H.E. Doug Ericksen spoke highly of Cambodia's rapid development in all areas, as well as on-going peace and political stability.

The Washington state senator told Samdech Say Chhum that his delegation has been invited to observe Cambodia's upcoming general elections on July 29, 2018.

The senator is positive that the election will be fair and transparent, thanks to the commitment of the Royal Government of Cambodia.

He also expressed his appreciation of Cambodia's independence and democracy and looked forward to contributing to boosting investment and trade cooperation with the country.

Samdech Say Chhum thanked the Washington state senator for the visit and positive note about Cambodia, stressing that the trip will further strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the peoples and legislative bodies of the two countries.

The Senate president also appreciated the delegate's intention to send observers for Cambodian national election, and acknowledged the contribution of the U.S government to the development of Cambodia.
