S. Korea to Urge More Tourists to Cambodia

The Republic of Korea has pledged to further strengthen tourism cooperation, especially to encourage more tourists to Cambodia.

The pledge was made by H.E. Park Heung-kyeong, Ambassador of S. Korea to Cambodia in his recent meeting with Cambodian Minister of Tourism H.E. Thong Khon here in Phnom Penh.

H.E. Thong Khon underlined Cambodia's efforts in securing high rate of COVID-19 vaccination, adding that the community immunity is a key to restore socio-economic activities.

Cambodia is preparing to welcome COVID-19 vaccinated foreign tourists to a set of priority locations such as Sihanoukville and Koh Rong of Preah Sihanouk province, and Dara Sakor of Koh Kong province from Nov. 30, 2021, and Siem Reap province in January 2022 onward, added the minister.

He also spoke highly of the good relations and cooperation in all sectors, especially in the field of tourism between the two countries.

H.E. Park Heung-Kyeong supported Cambodia's initiative to receive fully vaccinated visitors and appreciated the ministry's strategies and plans on tourism restoration.
