The phase III of the Rural Roads Improvement Project was launched in Phnom Penh earlier this week in a meeting chaired by Cambodian Minister of Rural Development H.E. Ouk Rabun.
Mr. Takeshi Fukuyama, Transportation Specialist, Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Miss Lee Hye Kyung, Director of the Korea Economic Development Cooperation Fund in Cambodia, were also present on the occasion.
According to the Ministry of Rural Development, this is a cooperation project between the ADB and the Republic of Korea to improve 724 kilometres of rural roads in 10 provinces: Kampong Cham, Thbong Khmum, Kandal, Kampong Chhnang, Kampong Speu, Takeo, Kampot, Prey Veng, Svay Rieng and Kratie.
An amount of US$120 million, including loans from ADB and Korea Export-Import Bank and a budget of the Royal Government, will be used to carry out this project, from 2019 to 2025.
