A running race to cheer the commemoration of the 109th Anniversary of the International Women’s Day on Mar. 8 attracted over 2,000 runners.
Of the participant, more than 70 percent were women and they ran a 10-kilometre distance with the departure and arrival point at Botum Vattey pagoda’s public park here in Phnom Penh.
According to H.E. Vat Chamroeun, Tourism Secretary of State and Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC), the event was intended not only to improve people’s health and tourism and environment, but also to encourage women to love and take part in sports sector.
