H.E. Gen. Hun Manet, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) and Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army, met with Sen. Lieut. Gen. Le Chiem, Deputy Minister of National Defence, in Hanoi, Vietnam on Oct. 29, reported Vietnam News Agency (VNA).

General Hun Manet spoke highly of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence's support and assistance for the Cambodian Defence Ministry in general and the RCAF in particular.

He appreciated the effective coordination between the two nations' border guard forces, saying it contributed to building a Cambodia-Vietnam borderline of peace, friendship, cooperation and development.

For his part, Sen. Lieut. Gen. Chiem affirmed that the Vietnamese defence ministry always supports and creates all the best conditions for its units to continue cooperation with the RCAF.

He hoped that during this visit, the two sides will set out coordination measures to effectively prevent sabotage schemes that threaten national security, social order and safety in border areas as well as the fine traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
