RoK To Help Build a Bridge Across Mekong River

The Republic of Korea (RoK) has accepted Cambodia's request to build a bridge across the Mekong River.

According to a press release on the outcomes of the meeting between H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Senior Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, and RoK's newly appointed Ambassador H.E. Oh Nak-young at the ministry office in Phnom Penh last Friday, Cambodia highly valued the Korean government's response to accept Cambodian Prime Minister's request to construct a Cambodia-Korea Friendship Bridge across the Mekong river.

The press release issued this morning did not give details of the bridge.

Besides, both sides exchanged views on the two countries' cooperation in the bilateral, ASEAN-Korea and Mekong-Korea framework as well as the positive developments in the Korean peninsula.

Cambodia and the Republic of Korea established their diplomatic ties in 1997, and since then their relations have grown unceasingly.
