Republic of Korea (RoK) has provided a concessional loan of US$63.88 million for sewage system development in Takhmao town, Kandal province.
The Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) Loan Agreement for Sewerage System Development in Takhmao Town Project between the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Export-Import Bank of RoK was signed here yesterday between Secretary of State for Economy and Finance H.E. Vongsey Vissoth and Head of EDCF Cambodia Office Mr. Chang Youn-Soo.
Cambodian Senior Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance H.E. Aun Pornmoniroth and Korean Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Oh Nak-young witnessed the signing ceremony.
According to the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the main part of the project is the construction of a wastewater treatment plant with the filing capacity of 7,600 cubic metres per day and the rehabilitation of 16.2 kilometre-long dam.
H.E. Aun Porn Moniroth said from 2001 to April 2018, Cambodia signed 21 concessional loan agreements with the RoK's EDCF worth in total US$763 million for physical infrastructure development projects in the Kingdom.
