The restoration of the heads of the Deva and Asura at the Takav Gate in Siem Reap province by the APSARA National Authority is scheduled to complete within a month.

According to Ms. Meng Sovanlylin, Architect and Technical Team of Takav Gate Restoration Site, the authority's restoration team is working on restoring the heads of the Deva and Asura, replacing some new sandstones, stone carving, and restoring the statue of Deva Commander body before completing the restoration of the heads of statues of the Churning of the Sea of Milk, at Takav Gate of Angkor Thom.

By far, 13 heads of the Deva and Asura have been found during archaeological excavation, including six heads of the Deva (four of them were in good condition and two in half-shaped) and seven heads of Asura (six of them were in good condition and one half-shaped).

The restoration of Takav Gate is a project of the APSARA National Authority under the financial support from the private sector.

Takav is one of the five gates of Angkor Thom city. Located in the west of Bayon Temple, the gate was made of sandstone and laterite with three four-faced Brahma above.
