RAHMAH SALES INITIATIVE WINS PEOPLE’S HEARTS

KANGAR, The Rahmah Sales programme held nationwide continues to be the focus of the residents to buy essential items at cheaper prices.

A Bernama check at the Mobile Rahmah Sales at the grounds of the Nurul Iman Mosque, Kurong Batang under the Bintong state constituency here today found that people did not miss the opportunity to come to the sale to buy their kitchen essentials.

The prices of essentials are much lower, for example imported rice (super grade 5 kg) is sold at RM13.50, chicken (RM10 each), sugar (RM3) and 5 kg cooking oil (RM25).

Faridah Baharom, 49, said she would not pass up the opportunity to go to a Rahmah Sale if there was one around the area.

“Items sold at the Rahmah Sales are much cheaper than the supermarket, a chicken only costs RM10 each. Convenience is another factor (for example) today the sale at this mosque takes me just five minutes to be here,” she told Bernama at the mosque grounds here today.

Likewise, Rohayu Kamis, 45, said she would stop to buy essential items every time she spots the Rahmah Sales truck moving around the area.

“For me, if you buy kitchen items at this Rahmah sale, you can save even more. For example, soy sauce is only RM2.50 a bottle, much cheaper than normal shop. This is the fifth time I have come to a sale like this,” she said.

Ainur Ahmad, 55, expressed hope that the programme would be held regularly in the state.

“Even if the programme is held in another place, I will still be there to shop. Today it is held nearby, it’s great because the prices are cheaper than the store,” he said.

Based on the schedule of the Rahmah Sales programme in Perlis for November 2023 which was uploaded on the official Facebook of the Perlis Office of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), it took place in two constituencies in the state today, namely at the Nurul Iman Mosque (Bintong) and Ameer Fawwaz Mosque (Simpang Empat).
