Preah Sihanouk Province, the Most Visited Destination in Third Weekend of April

The coastal province of Preah Sihanouk province attracted 54,834 of the total 327,270 visitors during the third weekend of April, according to a report of the Ministry of Tourism.

The second most visited destination is Battambang provinces, followed by Pursat province, Phnom Penh capital, and the provinces of Kampot, Kep and Siem Reap, it added.

The source pointed out that of the total 327,270 visitors, 311,551 were national tourists and 15,719 were internal foreign tourists.

In the first quarter of this year, some 2.8 million domestic tourists were registered, among them 2.5 million were national tourists, a year-on-year increase by 42 percent, and about 300,000 were international visitors, up 131 percent.

During Khmer New Year holiday from April 14 to 16, nearly 4.6 million national and international visitors toured the country.

Cambodia expects to welcome some 600,000 to 700,000 international tourists this year, after the Royal Government had eased the entry rules.
