AKP Phnom Penh, Royal Government of Cambodia has released a new policy toward the realisation of an ambition to enable suitable-price housing for low and middle income Cambodians.
Content of the so-called Encouragement and National Programme for Suitable-Price Residential Development Policy was disseminated through a recent workshop here in Phnom Penh chaired by Economy and Finance Secretary of State and Chairperson of tasked inter-ministerial committee H.E. Vongsey Vissoth.
The policy, outlined the secretary of state, will facilitate Cambodians in the mentioned categories including newly-wed couple, those migrating to the capital for work and the like to own a decent home.
H.E. Vongsey Vissoth continued that with appropriate housing of their own, they will be more confident and productive in applying their skills for their job � which is the initiated ambition of Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen.
The implementation of the policy will undergo two main phases that engage private sector for the construction of quality residential projects, allow access to housing loan of low interest rate, and introduce a support national programme as part of social security system.
The secretary of state also emphasised commitment of his committee and mechanisms in place to bring about transparency and fairness for the policy rollout, and encouraged private sector to join hands with the government to carry on the work.
The primary circulation of the policy was participated by officials from concerned government's bodies as well as representatives from private sector and from civil society organisations.
