Cambodian Prime Minister has urged for a collective effort among all stakeholders to achieve equitable and inclusive quality education to support the country's development.
Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen highlighted the point in his message to his compatriots for the commencement of new academic year 2018-2019.
He encouraged all students to work hard, stay away from harmful illicit drugs, and engage in extra curriculum as well as various social activities so as to become assets for Cambodia.
For concerned authorities, parents, media agencies, and civil society organisations, the Prime Minister encouraged them to join hands to support not only school enrolment, but also the performance of students and the functioning of education services at all levels.
He also advised education staff to ensure disaster-resilient and student-friendly teaching facilities and approaches and to further sharpen their knowledge and skills to fit the latest development relevant.
Mobilising dropouts to return to school and creating enabling environment for students with disability for effective learning was also the call of Samdech Techo Hun Sen to produce resources to support Cambodia's endeavour to become an upper-middle income nation by 2030 and reach a high-income status in 2050.
