PM: UPF’s Participation in Election Observation to Boost Democratic Process in Cambodia

AKP Phnom Penh, The participation of the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) in the observation of the forthcoming Commune/Sangkat Council Election in Cambodia will contribute to promoting the democratic process in the country.

The remarks were made by Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen while receiving a courtesy visit from Dr. Yun Young-ho, UPF Director General, at the Peace Palace here this morning, H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to the Premier told reporters after the meeting.

The UPF director general said he is honoured for being invited to observe the local election and spoke highly of Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s leadership in bringing about peace, national unity, stability, and development to Cambodia.

He also lauded the success of Cambodia’s efforts in containing and preventing the COVID-19 pandemic and boosting the democratic process through elections.

Dr. Yun Young-ho sought Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s opinion so that UPF plays more significant role in global peace seeking.

In reply, the Prime Minister suggested a meeting between high-ranking dignitaries and evaluators to work with other organisations on peace issues not only for the Asia-Pacific, but also for the whole world.
