PM Thanks All for Joyful Water Festival

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has expressed his gratitude to all concerned parties for their contribution to the successful and joyful celebration of Water Festival.

The three-day Water Festival ended in a very cheerful atmosphere, both in Phnom Penh capital and in the provinces. At the same time, our citizens, children, youths and the international tourists are well aware of the value of peace as well as learn more about our unique tradition and custom. If there is no peace, there will be nothing, the Premier wrote on his official Facebook page this morning.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen thanked all the competent authorities and armed forces for maintaining security, safety and public order for the citizens and tourists so that they could enjoy the annual celebration happily.

"I'd also like to thank all relevant ministries, departments and institutions, as well as organisations, associations, medical practitioners, artistes, radios and TVs, and all companies for their contribution to the organisation of the three-day Water Festival celebration with a delightful atmosphere. Your involvement is furthering our Cambodian society, he added.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen wished his compatriots safe return to their homes and workplaces.

Water Festival is one of the biggest and most popular festivals in Cambodia. Generally, people from across the country gather in the capital city, mainly along the riverside, to enjoy boat races, parade of illuminated floats, firework display, art performances, and many other entertainment activities.
