Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has once again reminded his compatriots of the upcoming 6th general elections.
The July 29, 2018 National Election is approaching. Cambodians throughout the nation are happy with this forthcoming election because we have the chance to use our rights to choose the political party we like, said the Premier on his official Facebook page this morning.
Until now, the Royal Government led by the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), has realised many achievements to meet the public's needs. Our development goal is to transform Cambodia into an upper middle-income economy in 2030 and a high-income nation in 2050, he stressed.
CPP strongly supports and encourages more participation from the youth in the national development, he added.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen also thanked all CPP's supporters who always votes for CPP to maintain peace and ensure sustainable development.
According the National Election Committee, 20 political parties � the ruling CPP, Cambodian Youth Party, Cambodian Nationality Party, Khmer National United Party, FUNCINPEC Party, Khmer United Party, Grassroots Democracy Party, New Light Party, Beehive Social Democratic Party, League for Democracy Party, Khmer Anti-Poverty Party, Thama Thippatay Party, Democratic Republic Party, Our Motherland Party, Khmer Rise Party, Khmer Economic Development Party, Khmer Will Party, Khmer Republican Party, Rasmei Khemra Party, and Cambodia Indigenous People Democracy Party � will join the general elections in July.
NEC will conduct the lucky draw to determine the order of the registered parties on ballot paper tomorrow.
Cambodia will organise the sixth national election on July 29, 2018, and NEC has already announced the period for the political campaign that will fall from July 7 to 27.
In the previous national election on July 28, 2013, eight political parties took part in the election � CPP, the dissolved Cambodia National Rescue Party, the royalist FUNCINPEC Party, League for Democracy Party, Cambodian Nationality Party, Democratic Republic Party, Khmer Anti-Poverty Party, and Khmer Economic Development Party.
